Bhubaneswar: IndiaOne Air Wednesday conducted the first trial flight from Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) in Bhubaneswar to Jeypore in the Koraput district.
The trial run was held ahead of launching commercial services between both towns.
The aeroplane left Bhubaneswar with the crew members at 10:15 am. The flight duration is said to be 45 minutes.
BPIA Director Prasanna Pradhan said that the flight will thereafter make its way back from Jeypore to Bhubaneswar around midday.
“We would operate the aircraft from Bhubaneswar to Jeypore and Jeypore to Vishakhapatnam. We will start providing services from Utkela once operations stabilise,” CEO of Indiaone Air Arun Kumar Singh said.
“The ticket prices will be comparable to or less than those of AC Second Tier. At first, we will provide various special deals so that travelers may fly for between Rs 500 and Rs 1000. However, because ticket prices are based on inflation, I am unable to provide pricing at this time. However, everyone will be able to pay the fee,” Singh added.
It may be mentioned here that after Jharsuguda and Bhubaneswar, Jeypore airstrip would be the third in the state to have commercial flight services.
