Koraput: In a shocking incident, a man murdered his wife by slitting her throat at Dhaudapadar village under Sadar police limits in Koraput district late Sunday night.
The deceased has been identified as Parvati (24) and the accused husband, identified as Kartik Takari (28), has been arrested.
Police said that Kartik committed the crime under the influence of liquor.
According to a source, Kartik came home Monday night in an inebriated state. The couple often quarrel over Kartik’s coming home drunk. Sunday night was no different either. They entered into a verbal duel. Later, the scene turned uglier as Kartik lost his cool, picked up a sharp weapon and slit her throat.
On hearing cries, neighbours rushed to Kartik’s house only to find Parbati lying in a pool of blood. On being informed, police reached the spot and recovered the body for post mortem. A detailed probe is underway.
