Birajakhetra: A pregnant tribal woman died at Jajpur district hospital Sunday allegedly due to the interference of middlemen.
According to reports, a pregnant woman from Gobardhanpur under Korei block in Jajpur district was admitted at the hospital Sunday morning.
When her condition deteriorated, the middlemen intervened and moved her to the operation theatre, but a few minutes after, she was shifted out from the operation theatre. The nurses and middlemen left her alone and the woman died outside the operation theatre, it was alleged.
When the family members protested against the medical negligence, the ‘dalals’ intervened and forcibly sent them to their village in an ambulance.
Locals alleged that the middlemen would often force the pregnant women to undergo operation at the hospital.
They urged the district administration to take action against the middlemen and staff who are involved in the racket.
