A study which was conducted earlier jointly by psychologists from the University of Liverpool with colleagues in universities in both Poland and Finland has said that women are fascinated towards dark and handsome men. But a new research suggests women are more attracted to dark brooding men than males with very attractive looks.
Scientists have proved women tend to prefer angry look over happy and smiling faces. Women feel that a brooding look portrays the man as strong, powerful and masculine which in turn will help them to produce healthier children.
Women think that dark men are smart, thoughtful and emotionally strong and because women do care a lot about being with a strong male. Also the brooding appearance increases the mystique and aura of the person. They also consider that men with brooding looks have better IQ than most others.
The study also reveals that women’s preference for ‘bad’ boys may be due to biological reasons. “Everyone has this tendency of getting attracted to the dark side of human nature. Hence women’s preference for some of the ‘Dark Triad’ traits in men may be related to their reproductive success,” the paper said.
