Bhubaneswar: Many parts of the state will receive heavy rainfall for three days under the influence of a low pressure likely to form over the north-west Bay of Bengal around August 24.
One or two places in the districts of Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Cuttack, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Kandhamal and Boudh will witness rain Sunday. However, very heavy rainfall will occur in between August 24 and 26, said director of Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre, HR Biswas here Saturday.
Predicting heavy rain for three days, the Met Centre has issued orange warning (be prepared) for several districts across the state. Some places of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Angul, Deogarh, Sundargarh, Kalahandi, Kandhamal and Mayurbhanj district may experience heavy rain August 24.
Similarly, orange warning has been issued for the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Deogarh, Angul, Sambalpur and Sundargarh as heavy to very heavy rain is likely to occur in these places August 25. Some places of Puri, Khurda, Sonepur, Bolangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Boudh, Nabarangpur, Malkangiri, Koraput, Jharsuguda and Bargarh may witness heavy rain on this day, the Met Centre added.
Besides, heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at few places in the districts of Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Bargarh, Bolangir, Sonepur, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Keonjhar, Nuapada, Boudh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Malkangiri, Koraput and Kandhamal August 26.
