ITI railway apprentice recruitment 2023: Online applications are invited from eligible candidates who are Indian nationals for training in workshops and divisions of Eastern Railway as Act Apprentices.
It is imperative that applications are submitted exclusively through the online mode; no other method of submission will be entertained.
The online application link will be active on the official website of RRC-ER from September 27, 2023, and will remain open until October 26, 2023. Candidates should click on the live link and complete their application forms following the instructions in this notification.
Eligibility criteria:
Age: Candidates should have attained a minimum age of 15 years and should not exceed 24 years as of the cut-off date for receiving applications. The age recorded in the matriculation certificate issued by a government-recognised board/ authority or the birth certificate from a government-recognized authority will be the sole basis for consideration. No other documents such as horoscopes, affidavits, birth extracts from municipal corporations, service records, etc., will be accepted.

Education: Applicants must have passed the Class-X examination or its equivalent (under the 10+2 examination system) with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate, from a recognised board.
They should also hold the National Trade Certificate in the specified trade issued by NCVT/ SCVT, which are regulating organizations for ITI.

How to apply for ITI railway apprentice recruitment 2023:
Candidates are required to apply online by visiting the link provided on the notice board of the official website of RRC/ ER Kolkata.
Candidates need to input all the required information in the respective fields.
Candidates can apply for any unit of Eastern Railway for training as Act Apprentice trainees, in accordance with the notified training slots of Eastern Railway units through this notification. However, they must exercise preferences for units of training. Importantly, a candidate will be selected for training in only one unit of Eastern Railway based on the comparative community-wise merit position and available training slots in their trade, following the procedures outlined in para 5 of this notification.

According to the notification a total of 3,155 posts are out in different divisions and workshops.
- Howrah Division: 659 vacancies
- Liluah Workshop: 612 vacancies
- Sealdah Division: 440 vacancies
- Kanchrapara Workshop: 187 vacancies
- Malda Division: 138 vacancies
- Asansol Workshop: 412 vacancies
- Jamalpur Workshop: 667 vacancies
Application fee
An application fee (non-refundable) of Rs100 is applicable, except for SC/ ST/ PwBD/ women candidates, who are exempt from paying any fee.
Selection procedure
A merit list will be generated for eligible candidates based on the average percentage marks obtained in both Matriculation (with a minimum of 50 per cent aggregate marks) and ITI examination, with equal weightage given to both. For example, if a candidate secures 80.58 per cent marks in the Matriculation examination and 91.68 per cent marks in ITI, the marks considered for selection will be ½ [80.58 + 91.68] = 86.13.
