Itish Pradhan shown the door

Bhubaneswar: Days after the National Students Union of India (NSUI) Odisha Convenor Itish Pradhan lambasted the Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) Niranjan Patnaik for party’s poor performance in the state elections, he has been shown the door.

The NSUI, in a notification, has ordered suspension of Pradhan on disciplinary grounds. The notification issued by the NSUI said, “This is to inform that NSUI has suspended Odisha State Convenor Itish Pradhan from the Primary Membership of NSUI for breaching organisational discipline with immediate effect till further order.”

Itish had earlier had drawn the ire of the state leadership as well as the central Congress leadership for his comments against the OPCC President. While the OPCC President termed him a child and attributed his comments as means of frustration for his defeat in elections, Itish continued his tirade against Niranjan Patnaik.

Itish had earlier fired salvos against the OPCC state president accusing him of having secret deals with the BJD and blamed him for the poll debale in the state besides promoting dynastic politics in the state. He even had threatened that he would not allow Patnaik to enter Odisha.
