Puri: Once again a photo of Jagannath Temple’s sanctum sanctorum went viral on social media platform, exposing the slackness of security arrangements at the shrine.
The Holy Trinity along with lord Sudarshan on the Ratna Singhashan can be seen in the viral photograph.
When contacted, SJTA administrator (rituals) Jitendra Sahu confirmed the incident, saying Abhijit Chandra, a resident of West Bengal, had posted the photo of ‘Ratnabedi’ on his Facebook account with some captions in Bengali May 27. In this regard, we registered a complaint with Singhadwar police station.
“However, our IT team is investigating to find out whether the photo is a real one or an edited one. The team’s report will decide the course of action, he added.
The devotee had also tagged a Jagannath Temple servitor, it was learnt.
While the picture is suspected to have been captured with a mobile phone, it is yet to be understood how devotees manage to enter the temple premises with their mobile phones when mobile phone, cameras are strictly prohibited. Despite round the clock tight security and presence of metal detectors at the four gates, that the incidents of people being able to take their mobile phones into the temple have sparked astonishment among the local residents and devotees.
