Dharmasala: In an unfortunate incident, a 54-year-old man was crushed under the wheels of a moving train as his feet slipped while attempting to board it at a station in Gadamadhupur Friday. He was on his way to meet his friend.
The man has been identified as Gunanidhi Dora (54), a sweet confectioner and a resident of Thanual village under Dharmasala block of Jajpur district.
According to sources, Friday evening while getting into the train in a hurry to meet a friend, the man slipped off the footboard and fell down. His legs got caught in the wheels and within no time both his legs got severed.
He was immediately rescued and was rushed to Dharmasala Hospital in a critical condition. He was later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.
The villagers and sarpanch of the village Amulyadhana Jena has urged the state government to cover Dora’s medical expenses citing his poor economic condition.
