Jajpur:  Police Sub-inspector (SI) Radhanath Das in Jajpur district has sent a  letter seeking resignation to Jajpur Superintendent of Police Vineet Agarwal, stating allegations of mental harassment by Inspector-in-Charge (IIC) Rakesh Tripathy, a source said Wednesday.

Both SI Radhanath Das and Inspector-in-Charge Rakesh Tripathy are currently posted at Dharmashala Police Station in Jajpur district.

SI Das in his letter alleged the IIC for torturing him mentally.

As per Das’s allegations, IIC Tripathy used to assign him heaps of cases to solve and coerced him to work extra hours.

“I have an ailing mother at home. She is in her last stage. But, I have been deprived of leave by IIC Tripathy. I’m now mentally depressed as I’m not able to pay a visit to my mother’’, Das alleged in his letter.

SI Das claimed that IIC Tripathy deliberately dodged cases of serious concern like Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) and rape. Instead, Tripathy forced Das to take up such cases.

SI Das moreover accused IIC of threatening him and also forcing him to seek resignation from his job.

Jajpur Superintendent of Police Vineet Agarwal has not responded regarding the resignation letter yet.
