Speaking after Mumbai Indians’ title-win, icon Sachin Tendulkar heaped lavish praise on Jasprit Bumrah, calling him the world’s best and that the India pacer’s best is yet to come.
“Let me go on record and say that he (Jasprit Bumrah) is the best bowler in the world at this stage and the best is yet to come hopefully,” Tendulkar said.
Jasprit Bumrah seems to have been bowled over by Sachin Tendulkar’s rich praise that came his way after the Mumbai Indians pacer’s heroics in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019 final against Chennai Super Kings.
Responding to the comment, Jasprit Bumrah took to Twitter and thanked the batting great.
Bumrah came up with a game-changing spell in the IPL 2019 final as Mumbai Indians went on to successfully defend a 150-run target and lift their 4th IPL title, thereby becoming the most successful team in the T20 league.
Bumrah gave away just 14 runs and picked up the wickets of Ambati Rayudu and Dwayne Bravo to dent Chennai Super Kings’ chase. Bumrah gave away just 13 runs in the last two overs as he put the brakes on the CSK’s scoring rate whem Mumbai didn’t have a lot to defend.
After being adjudged Man of the Match in the big final, Bumrah revealed his key to success was not panicking during the tense chase.
“In the finals we know that it can get close and winning the title with MI is a special feeling. Today, surprisingly, I was very calm, I wasn’t panicking at all and very happy to contribute to the team’s success,” Bumrah had said.
“I only take one ball and one day at a time and if you think like that you don’t feel pressure at all,” he added.
