Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police Friday arrested a jatra (theatre) actor on charges of circulating his female co-actor’s obscene video and intimate photographs on social media.
The accused has been identified as Deepak Kumar Mohanty, a resident of Basudevpur in Bhadrak district.
Deepak was working with Sachidananda jatra party. He took the video and photographs of a female co-star while she was changing her costume at the green room. Later he uploaded the video and photos on social media platforms.
Based on the woman’s complaint at the Nandankanan police station last month, Deepak was arrested and forwarded to a local court here.
The 38-year-old actor was arrested under section 354 (A), 354 (C), 384, 506, 509 of IPC and section 66(E) of IT Act.
