Malkangiri: Police recovered the body of a BSF Jawan of 9th Battalion in Malkangiri district Wednesday. According to police the jawan died by suicide after shooting himself with his service revolver in the early hours of Wednesday.
The deceased has been identified as Sesha Karna is a native of Rajasthan. He was posted at the BSF camp at Chitrakonda in the cutoff area of the district.
Police reached the spot after being informed and have launched a probe into the mysterious death.
Earlier Personal Security Officer (PSO) of CPI(M) MLA Laxman Munda of Bonai assembly constituency in Sundargarh district also died by suicide by shooting himself from his service revolver. However, the cause of his death is yet to be ascertained.
The deceased, who was identified as Dambarudhar Sahoo, was found surrounded by a pool of blood inside his home in Kuruda village under Lahunipara police limits.
