Jewellery looted in City

Bhubaneswar: A miscreant allegedly looted a bag and fled the spot at Indradhanu Market in Nayapalli area last night. The bag is said to have contained jewellery worth around Rs 30 lakhs

As per reports, the owner of ‘Maa Gouri Jewellers’ and his wife downing  shutters of the shop yesterday night when an unidentified person decamped with their jewellery bag that they had kept nearby the shop. The looted bag reportedly contained gold ornaments weighing around 1 Kg.

The robber picked up the bag when the owner had gone inside the shop and fled the spot.

The owner of the jewellery shop lodged an FIR at Nayapalli Police station soon after the incident. Police reached the spot and immediately launched a probe into the theft. They also took help from the the footages captured in the CCTV cameras.

Loot incidents in the city have turned out to be a big challenge for the Commissionerate Police. Incidents of series loots and snatching have been reported from several localities of Bhubaneswar in recent weeks.
