Bhubaneswar: The much-awaited second major airport of Odisha in Jharsuguda is likely to be inaugurated in last week of September this year.
According to reliable sources, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Jharsuguda airport during his visit to Odisha September 22.
Besides, he will lay foundation stone for revival of Rs 1,600 crore-fertiliser plant in Talcher.
Although, there is no official confirmation so far on the exact date of airport inauguration and flight operations in Jharsuguda, Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan is likely to announce about PM’s tour schedule shortly.
Notably, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has granted a 4-C category license to the Jharsuguda airport allowing it for operation of bigger planes.
