Jharsuguda: The newly constructed Jharsuguda airport will begin operations from August 21, said Airport Director S K Chouhan Tuesday.
The airport has been given 4-C category license by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) for the operations of big flights like Airbus-320 and even Boeing 747s.
The airport has been built under UDAN scheme at an estimated cost of Rs 200 crore.
The Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had requested Union Civil Aviation Minister Suresh Prabhu to name the Airport after renowned freedom fighter of Veer Surendra Sai.
