Dhenkanal: A herd of at least 30 elephants was spotted crossing the NH-55 at Haladia Bahal village near Motanga in Dhenkanal district Saturday morning.
The herd entered the village in the wee hours Saturday in search of food and tried to cross the highway at 7 am.
It affected vehicular movement for at least for an hour.
Later, the forest officials reached the spot and drove away the pachyderms.
