Bargarh: A man was trampled to death by a wild elephant at Turla village near Jharbandha in Bargarh district Sunday night.
The deceased was identified as Ghanashyam Sahu (30).
According to reports, the incident occurred when Ghanashyam along with two others had gone to their agricultural land.
While they were sitting near a water reservoir, the wild pachyderm had sneaked into the farmland and attacked them.
While two other persons managed to escape, Ghanashyam who tried to escape from the jumbo was crushed to death.
A panchayat samiti member of Bandamunda under Jharbandha block was killed by a wild tusker October 22 while another person died in an elephant attack at Marjadapali under Paikamal block October 26.
