Bhawanipatna: In a remarkable display of eloquence and knowledge, Anmol Ankita, a girl from Bhawanipatna in Kalahandi district, has left a lasting impression with her recently delivered talk on India’s former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri in the Parliament House leaving all the invited dignitaries present in the House glued to their seats. Words of praise and appreciation are pouring in for her from all quarters after the news spread. Recently, a debate competition on Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri was organised online by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India.
In the debate, Ankita secured first position both in the district and state levels, and subsequently emerged as one of the eight speakers chosen from across India, showcasing her talent. Anmol was the lone candidate selected from Odisha to participate in the prestigious programme organised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and conducted by the Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan. This was the first time that a girl from Kalahandi district delivered a speech in the Parliament House. In her impassioned speech, Anmol touched upon various important aspects of the leader like women empowerment, social equity, green and white revolutions, apart from describing Shastri’s visionary leadership and unwavering dedication. Born to Rakesh Kumar Swain and Subhashree Samanta of Mandarabagichapada of Bhawanipatna, Anmol completed her matriculation from Bimala Convent School and passed intermediate from Oneness International School in Khurda. After completing her graduation recently from Kalahandi University, she is preparing for various competitive exams.
