Bhubaneswar: After the launching of ‘Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation’ (KALIA) scheme to provide financial assistance of Rs 10,180 crore to the farmers in three years, KALIA Barta, an information service, launched by the Cooperation department, has received registration of around 20,000 farmers till January 2.
Any farmer wanting information about KALIA can register for Kalia Barta by making a ‘missed call’ to 08061174222. The farmer will automatically get registered with the government database. All information about KALIA will be sent to this phone number through SMS and voice calls.
The KALIA scheme is a package to ensure welfare of farmers. This scheme was launched December 31 by the CM to accelerate agricultural development and reduce poverty.
The dissemination of information through KALIA Barta has gained momentum as around 20,000 farmers have been added through KALIA Barta and 70,000 SMSs were sent to people wanting to know about KALIA. Similarly, around 3,000 farmers have so far visited the website www.kalia.co.in to know more about KALIA.
If a farmer wants to get information about KALIA through WhatsApp he/she should register his/her mobile phone number through the website of the KALIA scheme, www.kalia.co.in. Farmers can also visit the website to know more about the scheme.
