IIC suffers critical injuries in knife attack

Phulbani: Mrutyunjay Pradhan, Inspector-in-charge (IIC) of Gochhapada police station under Phiringia block in Kandhamal district sustained critical injuries following an alleged attack by miscreants Friday evening.

Pradhan, who was stabbed by the assailants with a sharp weapon, sustained grievous injuries on his throat and was admitted to the district hospital in Phulbani.

According to reports, Pradhan had gone to Phulbani for personal work Friday.

While at an ATM in the market, he was mobbed and stabbed by the miscreants.

Pradhan had been stabbed on his head once before while he was conducting a raid to seize ganja.

Reportedly, top cops of Kandhamal police are silent over the incident and the motive of the attack is still unknown.
