Bhubaneswar: Despite incessant rains in many parts of the state, large numbers of ‘Bol Bom’ devotees or ‘kanwariyas’ thronged different Shiva shrines across Odisha on the occasion of the last Monday of the holy month of Shravan.
The devotees were seen standing in long queues in front of Shiva temples since the wee hours to offer prayers to Lord Shiva.
The devotees chanted “Bol Bam! Bol Bam, Bol Bam, Har Har Bam” and poured the holy water collected from various rivers on Shiva Linga.
The administration has made elaborate security arrangements at major Shiva shrines across the state including the Lingaraja Temple in Bhubaneswar, Lokanath Temple in Puri, Dhabaleswar in Cuttack and Kapilash in Dhenkanal in view of the huge rush of devotees.
