Bhubaneswar: It seems that former Supreme Court judge Markandey Katju has not learnt any lesson either from his earlier experiences after demeaning Odias or the recent case of Abhijit Iyer Mitra, who was released on bail Thursday.
Through his social media accounts, the former judge called Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik ‘The Little Dictator’ and dared to put him in jail like Iyer, who languished in prison for 43 days.
“Odias…I joked about you too (see my earlier FB post). So when are you going to jail me? Of course I apologised, as did Abhijit Iyer-Mitra. But surely I need to be locked up for 43 days before release,” Katju said in his FB post.
“I don’t know any Manipuri jokes, so I will rest content by calling the CM of the state ‘The Little Dictator’ for locking up journalist Kishorechandra Wangkhem,” his post further read.
The former judge further said he won’t call him (the CM), ‘The Great Dictator’ because that appellation rightly belongs to the 56-inch chest superman who can be found in Delhi, as Muslims in India and Sanjiv Bhatt would testify.
In 2016, Katju had portrayed Odias as poor and made demeaning remarks against Odia people and their culture.
