Kayakalp team visits Ganjam hospitals

Hatiota: A three-member team of the ‘Kayakalp’- formed by the Union government to monitor cleanliness in government-run hospitals and enhance the quality of public health facilities- visited Ganjam district to check the cleanliness in district hospitals.

The team led by Joint Director of the Health and Family Welfare Department Dr Binod Bihari  Rath visited Polsara Community Health Center and Buguda Community Health Center to review the cleanliness in these hospitals, Friday.

During the visit to Polsara CHC, the team checked cleanliness of various wards of the CHC including dressing room, minor OT, emergency ward, ASHA room, Niramaya cell, indoor wards, toilets, medical waste management center, ICTC aid center and drinking water facilities.

Binapani Nanda, a member of the team, interacted with sanitation workers, nurses, doctors and other hospital staff. She also warned nurses against neglecting their duties.

During their visit to Buguda CHC, the team checked the sanitation drive adopted by the hospital authorities to maintain a clean environment in the hospital premises. The team checked cleanliness of various wards and the records maintained by the hospital authorities.

The authorities instructed the hospital to implement the 5-T action plan of the state government in the hospital.
