Keonjhar: More than 30 snakes of a rare species were spotted in the bedroom of a house in Keonjhar district Friday morning. The incident was reported from Kasibeda Munda Sahi under Ghatagaon block in this district.
On being informed, the Forest Department officials reached the spot along with snake catcher Prahallad Nayak and managed to rescue two of the reptiles which were later released into their natural habitat.
According to locals, Dhrub Munda alias Potal came upon the slithering reptiles when he was sweeping his bed room in the morning. Villagers gathered in his house to watch such a large number of snakes in one place as soon as the news broke.
However, Dhrub’s family members as well as his neighbours are very much in fear.
According to them, by the time the forest department officials reached, almost all the snakes had slipped into holes. He fears that they might resurface and cause harm.
