Keonjhar: People of Keonjhar district heaved a sigh of relief as the district reported fresh COVID-19 positive cases in single-digits Saturday. The district administration reported only three cases.
The fresh three cases include two COVID warriors and a local case from Seranda area under Joda block. The local case contracted the virus from another person who earlier tested positive for the disease.
With the detection of three fresh cases, the district’s COVID-19 tally has gone up to 1,011. Of them, 759 patients have so far recovered from the disease while 246 are undergoing treatment.
The district also registered two COVID-19 deaths Saturday. These two deceased include a 60-year-old male suffering from diabetes, hypertension and coronary artery disease and another 79-year-old having comorbidities of hypertension and atrial fibrillation.
A total of four patients have so far succumbed to the pandemic. At the same time, two patients have died due to reasons other than COVID-19.
