Bhubaneswar: The SP of Khurda Ajay Pratap Swain has tested positive for COVID-19 Thursday, he informed in a tweet.
A report said Singh contracted the virus from a staff of district headquarters office that had tested positive for the deadly virus before some days. Following this, swab samples of all other staffs were collected and sent for testing for the virus.

After the detection, he has kept himself under home quarantine to isolate himself. As per protocol, people, who came in close contact with the officer, will also be tested.
It may be mentioned here that with 220 new positive case reported Thursday, the total number of COVID-19 positive cases in Khurda district has increased to 5531. On the other hand, 3074 patients are undergoing treatment in the COVID-19 hospitals while 2418 patients have recovered from the disease. 31 COVID-19 patients have succumbed to the virus in the district.
