Cuttack, Dec 27: KIIT and KISS will lock horns in the final of the Vth Rajat Memorial Inter-School hockey tournament at the Police High School Ground here Sunday.
In the first semifinal, KIIT edged past DAV Public School, Chandrasekhar Pur 4-2 to enter the summit clash. Similarly KISS thrashed Odapada High School 4-0 in the second semifinal to enter the round of two. As many as 12 teams took part in the tournament.
Gallant enter semis
Gallant Club made it to the semifinals of the Bachan Memorial football tournament, beating Orissa United Club 4-2 via tie-breaker in a nail-biting match at the Padmapur High School Ground here Saturday.
Bighneswar Bhoi opened the account for United in the 15th minute. Sekh Zaheer scored the equaliser in the 29th minute. Both the teams were tied with one goal each during the lemon break. The second half was goalless despite aggressive hockey by both the teams.
In the ensuing penalty shoot-out, Gallant scored thrice, while United could convert only once.
Sports Hostel in final
Sports Hostel, Cuttack blanked Vishakhapatnam 2-0 to enter the final of the All India Mahaveer Cup football tournament in Tangi, Saturday.
Sports Hostel dominated the match completely scoring a goal each in both the halves. Sunil Sardar drew first blood in the fourth minute. After the lemon break, Siman Marandi doubled the lead in the 80th minute.
