Cuttack: Muna Mallick (56, 56b, 7×4, 1×6; 3/23) and Ennash Sabar (36, 36b; 2/13) produced a brilliant all-round performances to help KISS clinch the XIII PVR Murthy Memorial Inter-School cricket tournament title thrashing DAV School, CDA by 95 runs in the final at the BOSE cricket ground here, Thursday.
Chasing a victory target of 185 runs, DAV batsmen never looked settled against a disciplined KISS attack. They lost wickets at regular intervals and were eventually skittled out for 89 runs in 22.2 overs.
Muna was ably supported by Ennash (2/13) and Rohit Gamango (2/15). For DAV, Suraj Behera (21, 18b) was the only batsman to offer some resistance.
Earlier, opting to bat first, Muna and Ennash batted well to help KISS post a challenging total of 184 runs for the loss of four wickets. The duo dominated the opposition bowling attack hitting them all round the park. They were ably supported by a late cameo from Ramesh Meleka (27, 9b). Unlike the KISS bowlers, DAV bowlers struggled and conceded 43 extras. Pratya Pratim Kuanr (1/14) and Sasang Rungta (1/22) took wickets for DAV.
Former India wicket-keeper Kiran More was present as chief guest and distributed prizes.
