Koraput COVID-19 positive cases cross 1,000 mark, one repeat positive case sparks fear of re-infection

Koraput: The total number of coronavirus infected cases has reached 1,001 in Koraput district, with a spike of 31 cases Wednesday. One of the infected persons was detected as a ‘repeat positive’ case. However, one such case was found earlier in the district, Koraput Collector Madhusudan Mishra informed.

Notably, out of the total positive cases detected today, 16 are males and 15 are females including the repeat positive case. There are four COVID-19 warriors in the list, of which three are health workers and one is a policeman.

Koraput district administration has started contact tracing of the repeat positive person. The administration has not elaborated further. Of the new cases, 29 are direct contacts of previous patients.

Moreover, 20 among them were detected in different containment zones. One case was reported from a quarantine facility in the district.
