Koraput police dog Gracy who served for 9 years passes away

Koraput: After serving Odisha police for nine long years, she finally breathed her last Monday. The Koraput district police paid their last tribute to Gracy, the tracker dog, and performed her last rites with honour.

She was not a COVID-19 warrior but was a warrior in every way.

Gracy was a Labrador breed she-dog. Born November 15, 2011, Gracy had been a go-to one when human beings and science failed. She did serve the police sincerely, always performing up to the expectation.

After completing her training successfully at BSF’s National Training Centre for Dogs at Gwalior, Gracy started her tracking stint from Nabarangpur. Than she served Kalahandi police for some years before her transfer to Koraput district in July, 2018.

Gracy had since been serving Koraput police. For the last three years, she was felicitated at State Police Meet for her agility and performance.

Her demise has left the entire district police starting from lower rung to higher-ups soaked in grief.
