Bhubaneswar: The much-awaited teaser of ‘Krishna: Story of a Dancer’, a biopic on Prince Dance Group, has been released and it has already taking the social media by storm. Shortly after the teaser was posted on the social media, it achieved 13,000.
Krishna Mohan Reddy, founder of Odisha’s famed Prince Dance Group, and Suryamayee Mohapatra (Miss Vizag 2nd runners up in 2014), star in this 140-minute-long docu-drama. The teaser narrates the toil and hard work of the protagonists and their team in establishing their globally-famed dance group. Aside from acting in the docu-feature, Krishna has also composed its music, produced, directed and penned the script-screen-story of the film.
The teaser gives a glimpse of the struggles Krishna went through to become a dancer and form a troupe that went on to win coveted reality shows.
The Prince Dance Group came into limelight when the troupe won TV reality show ‘India’s Got Talent’ in 2009 with their spellbound and scintillating performances throughout the contest.
Choreographer and actor Krishna says, “I hope the people of Odisha will love the teaser as well as the film. We faced and overcame many hurdles before we achieved fame. The major objective of making this film is to tell the world about our modest journey from Berhampur to the ‘City of Dreams’ (Mumbai).
The film, Krishna’s dream project, is slated to hit the theatres across the state soon. “The film is based on true incidents stories that are mix of entertainment and message. We have added some family drama to make the film interesting,” he said.
