BHUBANESWAR: Followed by the success of previous stand up events in Bhubaneshwar featuring Zakir Khan and Abhishek Upmanyu, Las Viegas Comedy Club is scheduled to organise a stand-up special featuring Kunal Kamra March 2.
Kunal Kamra is an observational comedian known for his weird and twisted take on things. He’s brutally honest and incisive. His material is fresh, edgy and hilarious. Having kick started his career in advertising, he was left jaded and frustrated in the business. He then resorted to stand-up shows in order to satisfy his need to ridicule and mock what he sees in daily life.
He will be performing at the Odissi Research Centre March 2. You can grab tickets before they sell out through BookmyShow. Kunal’s show is one of the most anticipated ones in the calendar. Hence, tickets for the show would be sold out soon.
Although stand-up comedy is not a mainstream art form in many parts of the country, big metropolitan cities, along with a few smaller ones have an appreciation for it. LVC started two years ago with much deeper roots in Indian standup. During this time, LVC managed to sell 200,000 tickets through multiple shows across fifteen Indian cities.
The shows featured artists like Zakir Khan, Abhishek Upmanyu, Biswa Kalyan Rath, Kenny Sebastian, Kenan Gil and many others. Bhubaneswar welcomed LVC Comedy to their city again, months after the Zakir Khan event, with the announcement of Abhishek Upmanyu’s performance.
Dealing with people on the ground was not too difficult since everyone was looking for an opportunity to help. When speaking about the influence that LVC had on the comedy scene in the Bhubaneswar, Warren Viegas, founder of Las Viegas Comedy Club, said, “Bhubaneswar is a terrific city with a very comedy savvy audience. LVC is proud to be a part of its comedy scene, and two sold-out shows with Zakir and Abhishek Upmanyu is more than we could have asked for.”
