Bhubaneswar: Kalinga Vidyapitha (KV) and KISS registered narrow victories over their respective opponents in different matches of the Unit-VI Inter-School football tournament at the Unit-VI High School Ground here Friday.
In the first match, last year runners-up KV pipped DAV Unit-VIII riding on a 13th minute strike by Ashok Padhy who was adjudged man of the match.
In the second match defending champions KISS edged past Arbind High School 1-0. Jadunath Hembram scored the winning goal.
Drab draws
Chand Club played out a 1-1 draw against Lalbag Club in a match of the FAO 1st Division football league at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack, Friday.
Sunmaya Majhi put Lalbag ahead in the 32nd minute before Chand Club equalised through Sourav Ranjan Hanuman five minutes into the second half.
The other match of the day played between Rising Student Club and East Coast Railway also ended in a stalemate as both of the teams failed to find the back of the net.
