Bhubaneswar, August 25: In a group-A league match of the 26th Inter School MCL Cup Football Tournament, Kendriya Vidyalaya-III thumped Times Gurukul 4-0 at the Unit-VI High School Ground here Tuesday.
Satya Ranjan Samal, Naveen Hembram and Omm Aditya Pal were the goal scorers of the victorious team. Ramnath was adjudged the man of the match for his exciting display of skills.
The group-B league match between Unit-VI Boys High School and Kendriya Vidyalaya-II, CRPF Campus was postponed due to heavy rain. Before the rain had played spoilsport, KV-II was leading by a goal. The remainder of the match will be played Wednesday.
Tapoban High School and SAI International School would meet DAV Unit-VIII and Mother’s Public School respectively Wednesday.
Police football
Rourkela OSAP, Nabrangpur, Kalinga Nagar, Rourkela Police, Khurda 6 IR and Jajpur won their respective matches in the 74th State Police Football Championship in Bolangir, Tuesday.
Kalinga Nagar drubbed Kendrajhar 4-0 while Rourkela Police and Jajpur beat Angul and Khurda respectively by identical margins of 2-0.
Rourkel OSAP and Nabrangpur beat Bolangir and Ganjam respectively by a 1-0 margin. Khurda VI IR scraped past Deogarh IV IR 2-1 while Kandhamal District Police and Kandhamal Special played out a drab draw.
