New Delhi: It seems that Congress chief Rahul Gandhi’s comment that all Modis have thieves in their names is going to put him into a lot of trouble. A day after Bihar Deputy Chief Minister, Sushil Modi who has already filed a case against Rahul, former IPL boss and tainted cricket administrator Lalit Modi has threatened to file a case against the Congress leader for the same comment.
Lalit, who currently resides in the UK has said that he will file a case against Rahul in a British court. He said in a tweet Friday that everybody knows that India has been looted for five decades by the Gandhis and he will soon file a case against Rahul. He has also tagged Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the tweet.
A few days back at a rally in Maharashtra, Rahul had made the comment. The PM had hit back stating that such a statement doesn’t suit the Congress chief but then it had become synonymous with the ‘naamdar’ (dynast).
It should be mentioned here that IPL founder Lalit had left India in 2010. There were allegations of tax evasion and money laundering against him. The Interpol in 2017 has rejected India’s claim for a global warrant against Lalit.
