Ramoji Film City (RFC) in Hyderabad is the world’s biggest film studio as per the Guinness Book of World Records. People love to visit the site not only to witness the shooting locations of many popular films, but also to gather some shooting experience. RFC also offers many other attractions. It has become an epithet for a thematic holiday destination wrapped in the magic of cinema. Last year RFC launched Sahas, the Ramoji adventure land, to attract thrill- and adventure-seeking visitors. Sunday POST recently visited the adventure land.
SAHAS
Considering the changing tastes and new demands of tourists, especially the corporate looking for non-conventional experiences in the exotic wilderness, Ramoji Film City came up with Sahas, the adventure land in 2014 in synch with the best international practices. It offers multiple adventure activities all at one integrated zone. With most of the activities being a blend of adventure and recreation, Sahas can be a perfect day-out with family and friends. Besides, it offers a range of exclusive packages tailor-made for corporate groups.

ACTIVITIES
The various adventure activities Sahas offers are high rope course, net course, paintball, zorbing, ATV rides, mountain bike, target-shooting (archery/rifle shooting), inflatables and bungee ejection. The exclusive feature of the adventure park is its paintball arena which has a viewing gallery and themed obstacles. The target shooting zone with archery and artillery cater to both beginners and experts. In the inflatable arena, players in jumbo-sized play objects get busy with foosball, melt-down, body zorb fight, sumo-suit fight and tele-boxing. Again, Sahas has the longest zorb platform for the roller zorb activity in the country with a length of 220 ft. The adventure land also offers individual activities, inspiring team skills and self-exploration.
SAFETY
The adventure land designed by international experts ensures stringent safety standards. Here, the elevated acrobatic courses and zip lines are available in the tall poles with the cargo net ensuring safety. Separate arrangement has been made for children, especially for net courses, ATV rides and fun fights with the inflated zorb ball. All the activities are pursued in the presence of experts.

Sunday POST in the midst
During the stint in Sahas, Sunday POST team members took part in adventure activities to make sure that they were absolutely hassle-free and safe for people. Everything went on well. Both the male and female instructors were helpful and tried their best to provide optimum thrill.
Surinder Singh Rana, the senior instructor, instructed on the ATV rides, high rope course, bungee ejection and zip lines. He is a trained professional of adventure activities having work experience of around 20 years. Rana categorically demonstrated the safety factors offered in Sahas. He explained: “Sahas is Asia’s finest adventure park. Here we have four levels of high rope course meant for beginners and experts. Activities are done on high poles where there is a chance of falling down. But you always will be attached with a second wire. (Laughed and said) It is like your wife, which will never let you fall. So in case you miss somewhere still there is no chance of falling.”
Narrating his experience of visitors in the adventure land, he said, “Once a team from Gujarat had come to take part in the adventure activities. One of the team members was a 70-year-old woman. To everybody’s astonishment she successfully completed the third level. It was a memorable experience for me.”

RAMOJI RAO
Kudos to Ramoji Rao, chairman of Ramoji Group, for establishing the world’s largest film city. It is a matter of pride for the whole country. Fortunately during the trip to RFC, Sunday POST got the opportunity to interact with Rao. When asked about business extension plans in Orissa, he said, “Have pity on my age (smiled). Presently we are on our way for a spiritual city. It will be, again, the world’s finest and one of a kind. The exact replicas of as many as 108 most popular and sacred temples of India are going to be built at one place under this project. This unique temple complex, which is expected to attract over a lakh pilgrims a day, will have world class infrastructure and amenities. Every temple in this project will follow its distinct rituals and celebrations with utmost steadfastness.”
