Koraput: At least three workers including two women died in a landslide while they were digging earth at Karanjiguda hill near Dalpatiguda village under Potangi Police station limit Saturday.
The deceased were identified as Jayanti Pedakapu (16) of Dalapatiguda, Champa Palesi (18) of Nuaguda and Bishu Shisha (48) of Beningiguda. The injured — Danai Palesi (38) of Nuaguda and her daughter Danumati (13) are undergoing treatment at a local government hospital.
Sources said about 10 to 20 workers from labourers from Dalapatiguda, Nuaguda and Beningiguda under Pattangi block had gone to Litipabali hill to fetch lime clay, about 15 kilometers from their villages when the mishap took place.
While three persons died on the spot two others seriously injured in the mishap. The injured have been admitted to Patangi hospital.
