Koraput: Doctors at Sahid Lakshman Nayak Medical College and Hospital here have successfully performed a laparoscopic operation on appendicitis of a patient.
The operation, carried out Friday under the direct supervision of Dean Dr Krushna Chandra Nanda and Superintendent Dr Khetrabasi Subudhi, was performed by the head of the surgery department Dr Jagadananda Mishra and assisted by Drs Gopal, Sukanti, Kedar and anaesthesiologist Harekrushna Dalai.
The hospital, inaugurated September 4, 2017, has been provided with ultramodern equipment. The success of the operation has marked a new beginning for the hospital as patients will no longer need to visit Visakhapatnam for laparoscopic surgery.
