Bhubaneswar: It seems that the Commissionerate Police is not serious about proper implementation of the state government’s directive to use Odia as official language.
A hoarding has been put up at the Mahila Sishu Desk room of the Sahid Nagar police station where the words ‘Mahila Sishu Desk’ (in Odia) were wrongly spelt. It has been providing a good dose of laughter to the visitors to the police station.
Despite the regular visits by senior officials, none has noticed the mistake. Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Anup Sahu said, “It is a spelling mistake which has gone unnoticed. The mistake will soon be rectified.”
Notably, the Mahila Sishu Desks set up to receive complaints from woman and child victims have become useless in the Capital.
Somewhere it is found to be locked all the time, while at others the room turned into a barrack of the police personnel. The desk at Sahid Nagar is used as the favourite hang-out place for the constables and police drivers.
