G.Udayagiri: Kandhamal district administration has withdrawn containment zone tag from Laxmi Bazar and Baralini Sahi under G.Udayagiri block of the district.
The containment zone order from Laxmi Bazar was lifted Thursday, while the restriction was lifted from Baralini Sahi Friday as no fresh cases were reported during active surveillance phase.
That said, active surveillance will continue in the areas for next seven days as a precaution to check spread of the virus. After withdrawal of this tag, the district administration has allowed opening of all essential stores in Laxmi Bazar.

Online delivery of vegetables, grocery and medicine to the locality will also resume soon.
Notably, in order to curb the spread of COVID-19, Kandhamal district administration had declared Laxmi Bazar as containment zone July 29 and Baralini Sahi July 27.
The district administration had taken the decision to safeguard the public from the deadly disease.
The containment zone declaration came after several positive cases of COVID-19 were reported from the densely populated areas of G.Udayagiri.
Meanwhile, Champa Sahi and Bank Colony continue to remain under containment zone. G.Udayagiri BDO Santanu Kumar Nayak said after testing all suspected cases in Champa Sahi and Bank Colony, the block administration will take a call on withdrawal of the containment zone tag there.
