Laxmipur MLA Prabhu Jani tests positive for COVID-19

Bhubaneswar: BJD MLA Prabhu Jani from Laxmipur in Koraput district Saturday tested positive for COVID-19.

The legislator has requested people who came in contact with him to get themselves tested for the virus.

Jani’s report came out to be positive for coronavirus infection Saturday and he has been asked to be under home isolation.

Anandapur MLA Bhagirathi Sethi had also tested positive for COVID-19 Saturday. Odisha Minister of Textile and Handicrafts Padmini Dian had tested positive for COVID-19, Thursday.

Higher Education Minister Arun Kumar Sahoo, Rural Development Minister Susanta Singh, BJD vice-president and Badamba MLA Debi Prasad Mishra, Chandbali MLA Byomkesh Ray, Bhubaneswar (Central) MLA Ananta Narayan Jena, Nilagiri MLA Sukanta Nayak, Khandapara MLA Soumya Ranjan Patnaik, Polsara MLA Srikant Sahu, Remuna MLA Sudhansu Sekhar Parida, Salepur MLA Prasant Behera, BJP MP from Bargarh Suresh Pujari, Bhadrak MLA Sanjib Mallick and Bhadrak MP Manjulata Mandal were some of the leaders who had also tested positive for the virus.

Notably, Odisha reported 3,810 fresh cases Sunday, taking the tally to 1,24,031.
