Leyland tops dealer satisfaction index

Bhubaneswar, June 1: Ashok Leyland has been ranked best in dealer satisfaction in the commercial vehicles segment in JD Power’s 2018 India Dealer Satisfaction with Automotive Manufacturers Index (DSWAMI) study. Leyland scored 815 in the index.

“We are extremely thrilled that our efforts and our strong belief in our brand philosophy, ‘Aapki Jeet, Hamari Jeet’, has been appreciated by all our dealer partners, which has resulted in us leading the JD Power DSWAMI ranking. This is testimony that our efforts are paying off and adds another feather to the company’s achievements in delivering nothing but the best. This gives us more confidence that we are on the right path and we will continue to lead and innovate in whatever we do,” Vinod K Dasari, Managing Director, Ashok Leyland, was quoted as saying in an official release.

The DSWAMI study measures dealer satisfaction with vehicle manufacturers or importers in India and identifies dealer attitudes regarding the automotive retail business. Overall, dealer satisfaction is determined by examining nine parameters namely sales team, marketing and sales activities, support from the manufacturer, product, vehicle ordering and delivery, training, warranty claims, after-sales team, and parts.

The 2018 study is based on responses from 2,472 dealer principals or dealership general managers located in more than 200 cities throughout India.

The study was conducted in association with the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) and was fielded from January through March 2018.

Ashok Leyland also reported 51 per cent leap in total sales at 13,659 units in May. The company had sold 9,075 units in the same month last year, Ashok Leyland said in a statement. Sales of medium and heavy commercial vehicles rose 70 per cent to 10,421 units in May as against 6,143 units in the year-ago period, it added.
