Sambalpur: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik Saturday inaugurated a light and sound show at Samaleswari temple in Sambalpur district.
Patnaik launched the show through virtual mode on the occasion of Nuakhai. Visitors coming to the shrine will witness its glorious past which dates back to 16th Century.
The light and sound show will be conducted on the temple premises for 37 minutes every day. It was set up at a cost of Rs 7 crore.
The show contains information about the history of Sambalpur projected through an impressive display. Poetries of noted writer from western Odisha Haladhar Nag blended with music of Pankaj Jal will fascinate the viewers, an official source said.

“Sambalpuri dialect is very sweet. Sambalpuri songs are very popular across the country. Sambalpuri dance and song are very impressive. Sambalpuri sarees have raised the fame of Odisha and the country as well,” the Chief Minister said while launching the show.
Some senior faculties of History Department of Sambalpur University had earlier carried out an extensive research based on which the show has been prepared, the senior official source added.
