There are many mysterious places in India, where strange incidents keep happening. One such place is in Ranchi, Jharkhand. Actually, there is a mysterious fort, where it is said that lightning falls on it every year, but till now, no one has solved the mystery why this happens.
This fort is known as Raja Jagatpal Singh Fort. About 200 years old, this fort is in Pithoria village in Ranchi district, Jharkhand. Once upon a time, this fort used to be a huge palace with 100 rooms, but due to thunderclap, this fort is now completely transformed into ruins.
According to the villagers, lightning strikes this fort as Jagatpal Singh was cursed by a revolutionary person. Lightning is a natural phenomenon, but lightning strikes at one place for many years.
Though Jagatpal Singh was very popular among his subjects and was considered a good king, due to some of his mistakes his name is also counted among the traitors in the history.
It is said that Jagatpal Singh helped the British during freedom struggle of 1857. Singh used to leak news related to the revolutionaries to the British. It is said that a revolutionary got angry with him and attacked him, after which the king hanged him by a tree.
People believe that the revolutionary had cursed King Singh for supporting the British and betraying the country. The revolutionary apparently said Jagatpal’s name will be forgotten in future and lightening will strike his fort every year until it is completely ruined.
However, scientists believe that it is due the presence of iron ore in the nearby trees and mountains which attract the phenomena, but people dismiss this fact. They say that earlier also there were trees around the fort, but lightning never struck. They question why it happens every year now? The mystery is still unsolved.
