Cuttack: In a major breakthrough in actor Nikita’s death case, her husband Lipan Sahu Monday confessed that he had killed her.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Akhilesvar Singh said Lipan has been arrested and he will be forwarded to court Tuesday. Nikita’s in-laws have also been detained for interrogation, he added.
According to Singh, Lipan had visited Nikita’s house along with one of his friends January 4. Nikita requested Lipan to stay with her as she had prepared food for him. However, Lipan rejected her request and left the house. After some time, Lipan came back and started an argument with Nikita. Later, they went to the terrace of the house where heated exchanges ensued and Lipan pushed her off the terrace.
Nikita was hospitalised and died January 5. Nikita had married Lipan in 2016.
