dipchand bihari, post news network, Bhubaneswar, June 24: A wedding photographer by profession, Udayan Sarathi Behera had always wanted to promote Orissa. Now, his wishes have been granted by the software major Microsoft Corporation. In an e-mail sent to him recently the multinational congratulated him for the selection of his photograph as Microsoft wallpaper. His photo showed how inviting Chilika can be, and how beautiful the state where the lake is, can be.
The e-mail read, “Hi Udayan: We wanted to let you know that your wallpaper is now live in the windows desktop backgrounds gallery.” The 27-year-old was overjoyed when he read the mail. “I was indeed very happy when I got this email. It has always been my wish to promote Orissa. Getting an image published by the Microsoft is somewhat like a dream come true. I really hope people connect with this image and see how beautiful our Chilika is; how beautiful our Orissa is,” Udayan said.
Microsoft Corporation, the leading multinational technology company had invited all to send photos for selection as background wallpapers. “It was an open call for all. I usually visit their website. I send them some of the pictures taken by me. From all those sent, the photograph on Chilika was selected,” said Udayan.
The 27-years-old photographer had a great enthusiasm of photography from college. Now, he seems to have mastered photography. Photography has always been an integral part of his life. Today he skillfully shoots weddings, events and portfolios for a private entity.
Sharing with the Orissa Post his enthusiasm for photography he said, “It all started with an SLR camera that was there in our home. I loved to click the environment surrounding me to freeze time forever. With minimal experience, great interest and heartfelt devotion, I tried first to experiment with different subjects and later on with different cameras. Since then, I have held on to this dream of making the best photographer out of me. Being a Cancerians the love for nature will always remain close to my heart.”
