Cuttack, Dec 5: Spinner Subham Nayak (6/21) spun a web around Jammu and Kashmir to capture six wickets as the visiting team were bowled out for a paltry 111 runs on the first day of their four-day long match of the U-19 Cooch-Behar Trophy cricket tournament at the Nimpur ground here Friday. Ashutosh Das (72,110b, 4×15) was the only bright spot for the visitors.
In reply, Orissa were 112 for the loss of four wickets at stumps. The host are eying a healthy first innings lead with their dependable batsman Sandeep Patnaik (32 n o, 46b, 6×4) occupying the crease.

India enter semis
India will meet Sri Lanka in the semifinals of the Blind Cricket World Cup in South Africa Saturday. RK Academy enter semis
RK Academy of Kanhapur made it to the semifinals of the Tamando Cup football tournament defeating Orissa Police 1-0 at Tamando in Bhubaneswar, Friday. The all important goal was scored by Bishnu Bisi in the 67th minute.
Rugby team leaves
A 19-members Orissa rugby football men’s team left for Kolkata, Thursday to participate in the All India Senior Nationals Rugby 7s Tournament at the Salt Lake Stadium Complex December 6-7. Squad: Gourang Jamuda, Rajeev Nath, Gyanaranjan Prusty, Bariyal Besra, Chitaranjan Murmu, Muna Murmu, Manas Kumar Jena, Roshan Xaxa, Ranjan Kumar Sahoo, Subha Narayan Mohanty, Babula Melaka.
Judokas selected
As many as six judokas including five girls and a boy of KISS have been selected to represent Orissa in the National Youth & Junior Judo Championship at Shilong of Meghalaya December 7-11. The players are Jasmita Nayak, Biswasini Nayak, Rasmita Nayak, Malati Marndi, Puspa Kemparai and Jayanta Murmu. Kandan Murmu of KISS has also been selected as the coach of the Orissa team.
Footballer dies
Veteran football player of Angul Ramesh Chandra Swain breathed his last at the SCB medical here Wednesday. He was undergoing treatment here after suffering from Malaria. Angul sports fraternity and members of the Veteran Football Players’ Association expressed their deep condolences and decided to conduct a tournament in his memory December 14.
