Locals fume over bad shape of Bahanaga rly station road

Bhanaga: Thousands of people commute on the road connecting to the Bahanaga railway station in Balasore, but its bad shape has been a nightmare for them. Though road is under the railway department, the latter has failed to repair it over years.

The 1-km stretch road has been replete with craters. In monsoon, the craters get filed with water, leading to accidents often, locals lamented.

The road is used by students coming to Bahanaga school. Locals depend on this road to reach Bahanaga Bazar, Gopalpur tehsil, the Talapada and Bahanaga railway stations.

People of Bahanaga and Ichhapur have submitted a memorandum to the Kharagpur DRM for repair of the road. They also demanded lighting facility one route.

They warned of agitation if the railway department fails to take any step in this direction.
