Lok Sabha Elections Phase 1 breakdown

New Delhi: Phase 1 of voting for the Lok Sabha Elections 2019 begins April 11, Thursday. Candidates up and down the country ended their campaigning for the first phase today hoping to have put up a good show to woo the voters.

The first phase will see polling for 91 seats in 20 states and Union Territories. Dates for the rest of the six phases are:  April 18, April 23, April 29, May 6, May 12 and May 19. The results will be declared May 23.

States and Union Territories that go for election in Phase 1 are: Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jammu and Kashmir,  Maharashtra, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Odisha, Sikkim, Telangana, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep.

Arunachal Pradesh

12 candidates contesting in two constituencies.

Main parties: BJP, Congress and People’s Party of Arunachal (PPA)

No. of polling centres: 2202.

Andhra Pradesh

319 candidates contesting in 25 constituencies.

Main parties: BJP, Congress, TDP, YSRC, Jana Sena.

No. of polling centres: 45920.

Assam

41 candidates contesting in 5 constituencies.

Main parties: BJP, Congress and AIUDF.

No. of polling centres: 9574.

Bihar

44 candidates contesting in 4 constituencies.

Main parties: BJP+JDU alliance, Congress and RJD alliance.

No. of polling centres: 7486.

Chhattisgarh

7 candidates contesting in 1 constituency.

Main parties: BJP, Congress and BSP.

No. of polling centres: 1878.

Jammu and Kashmir

33 candidates are contesting in two constituencies.

Main parties: PDP, Congress and JKNC alliance and JKNPP.

No. of polling centres: 3489.

Maharashtra

122 candidates contesting in 7 constituencies.

Main parties: BJP and SS; Congress and NCP. Other important parties are SSS (Swabhimani Shetkari Sanghatan ), YSP ( Yuva Swabhimani Paksha) and BVA, but they are not contesting in Phase 1.

Meghalaya

9 candidates contesting in two constituencies.

Main parties: BJP, Congress, NPP and UDP.

No. of polling centres: 3167.

Manipur

8 candidates contesting in 1 constituency.

Main parties: BJP, Congress and NPF.

No. of polling centres: 1300.

Mizoram

6 candidates contesting in 1 constituency.

Main parties: BJP, Congress and ZPM alliance and MNF.

No. of polling centres: 1175.

Nagaland

4 candidates contesting in 1 constituency.

Main parties: NPP and NDPP.

No. of polling centres: 2227.

Odisha

26 candidates contesting in 4 constituencies.

Main parties: BJP, Congress and Biju Janata Dal (BJD).

Sikkim
